Freeze This Food

About this site

Freeze This Food is an independent food-freezing reference. The goal is narrow and old-fashioned: answer one question per food — can you freeze it? — and then show exactly how, how long it keeps, and how to thaw it, without the pop-ups, the auto-playing video, and a thousand words of preamble before the answer.

A “can you freeze broccoli” answer is true this year and next, so the pages are written to last. Each one shows the date its facts were last checked against the sources it cites, and we do not patch pages just to look fresh.

We stick to freezing and storage practicality: whether a food freezes well, the method, the for-best-quality storage time, and the texture trade-off. We do not tell you whether an already-spoiled or off-smelling food is safe to eat — that is a judgement only you, and when in doubt USDA guidance, can make. Storage times are grounded in the USDA FoodKeeper data, and the site is supported by unobtrusive display ads.
